Melt Flow Indexer
MFI 9
Used to determine the melt flow rate of a polymer by extruding it in a molten state through a calibrated die using a reference weight, the MFI 9 is a competitively priced product which catagorically outclasses competition for accuracy, repeatability and reproducibility of results. Ideal for low volume users who require the same quality machine as larger corporations.

Melt Viscometer for PET

Used to determine the Intrinsic Viscosity of hygroscopically sensitive materials, such as PET by extruding the polymer in a molten state through a calibrated die using high pressure nitrogen gas. The ICI approved Melt Viscometer is proven and safe for routine testing of Melt Viscosity (MV) and Intrinsic Viscosity (IV).

HDT/VICATPlus
The DAVENPORT HDT/VICATPlus from Lloyd Instruments is designed to determine the temperature of deflection of thermoplastic samples in accordance with both national and international standards. The unit consists of a temperature controlled oil bath, with up to six testing stations, each of which may be configured for either HDT or VICAT test methods.

Density Column
The Davenport Density Measuring apparatus is designed to measure the density of solid materials, notably plastics, by the technique described in BS2782 part 6 Method 620D, ASTM D1505-68, ISO 1183 and others. It is also a quick comparative test, ideal for discerning density differences between similar materials.

Falling Dart Impact Tester
Model A: Complies with BS2782: Part 3: Method 352D and ASTM D 1709 Method A. Single dart drop of 660 mm and drop weights from 1g up to a total of 1640g. The sample is held down by a vacuum and clamping ring. A 20g dart is supplied suitable for testing thin film and the edge of tubular film of low impact strength.

Inclined Plane
The Inclined Plane is ideal for accurate, simple and quick checks on co-efficient of friction. The method involves increasing the angle (up to 60ç) of inclination of a plane surface covered with the test material. A free sled, also covered in the material, will start to slide at the point at which gravitational force overcomes the static friction between the two. This is the static co-efficient of friction. By reducing the angle of inclination of the plane whilst the sled is in motion, until the motion stops, gives the kinetic co-efficient of friction.
